CADENA Costa Rica
Assesses and collaborates with the government in matters of Risk and Disaster Management.
Costa Rica is ranked as the fifth country most exposed to disasters according to the World Risk Index. Its local offices were established upon receiving support from CADENA after Tropical Storm Nate.
We collect information on needs in the first 72 hours after a disaster. We carry out missions to deliver food, and medical and psychological consultations.
We approach young people from middle school onwards with different programs that help to sow the seed of humanitarian action.
With the “Resilience Brigades” program we seek to develop local capacities so that the most vulnerable communities in the country are prepared for future disasters.
