The team of volunteers from CADENA Youth held a Welcome Fair for refugee children from the Refugee House Program. Activities included typical Mexican activities with a cultural twist, such as a lottery with modifications to include typical food from their countries of origin. We also carried out activities that promote recycling, such as ball-and- stick with recycled PET bottles. Finally, we danced to the sound of mariachis. At the same time, our volunteers talked with the adults, who shared stories about their transition from their countries of origin to Mexico. We performed integration activities and shared aspects of Mexican culture for the children who now call Mexico home. Congratulations!
