On Sunday, August 29, a reusable sanitary pad embroidery workshop was held with the goal of demystifying many conversations around menstruation. Participants received a kit that included fabric, pad mold, needle, thread and a Luna Segura coupon for 20% off their products. Luna Segura pledged to donate 1 menstrual pad for every 50 pads embroidered. Thirty women participated in the workshop, where while embroidering, they shared knowledge, stories and experiences of their lives. One of them was Gabriela Méndez, who approached the subject from the work environment, the difficulties that existed in it, the little importance given to the problems and the indifference of health insurance related to menstruation and the female reproductive system. Another woman who took part was Alejandra Acevedo, who shared her frustration of all that we had and that these shared experiences around menstruation go beyond borders. The activity concluded with the promise of each one to sew 3 towels in total, they will have until September 30 to return them in order to donate them to women in vulnerable situations.
