Axis: Rescue and Immediate Response
Office: Mexico
CADENA Mexico responded to one of the strongest disasters to hit our country: Hurricane Otis in Acapulco, Guerrero. After an outpost to attend to the needs of the affected population, we decided to deploy a series of humanitarian interventions between October and December. From October 29 to December 7, we responded in the most damaged communities in the state of Guerrero, reaching wherever we were needed regardless of the distance.
This intervention, one of our most extensive and complex responses, was possible thanks to the support of Protección Civil and our donors: AMEFIBRA, Altum Capital, Cosmetica, Fundación Axa México, Fundación Banorte, Fundación Compartamos, Fundación Coppel, Fundación CONCAMIN, Fundación Checo Pérez, Fundación Diez Morodo, FAPRODE, Fundación Familia Bocar, Fundación Televisa, Fondo Unido México, Fondo Nimbus, Fundación MAPFRE, HIR Casa, Fundación Home Depot México, Fundación Metlife México, Johnson & Johnson, STEREN, METALSA, Museo Memoria y Tolerancia, Tubacero, Promotora Social México, Valia Energía, Verde Valle, Volvo, Weber Shandwick and WIZO.
Finally, we thank all the people who shared their Warrior Spirit with us, your donation helped us to provide continuous and long-term support to those who needed it most.
Both our volunteers and CADENA Mexico office staff joined the Warrior Spirit and a total of NUMBER humanitarian interventions, led by our team of Pathfinders. During these interventions we delivered hand to hand 14,243 food kits, 25,269 liters of water, 11,000 serums, 5,400 liters of milk, 800 hygiene kits, 980 cleaning kits, 50 chainsaws, and 11 150 KWH light generators. Overall, we benefited more than 74,928 people in 29 communities in Guerrero.
