Women and children in a situation of mobility are among the most underserved groups. CADENA Colombia identified a serious lack of health services for these population groups in the Bucaramanga area, a key city for the migratory route. Therefore, we decided to respond in collaboration with ADRA, implementing a health project with a Mobile Unit that provides gynecological consultations for pregnant women in mobility, and medical consultations with pediatric staff, in addition to implementing deliveries of medicines and laboratory tests.

From November 2022 to December 2023, we were able to benefit 960 people in the city of Bucaramanga, located in the north of Santander near the border. The Mobile Unit functioned as a clinic that helped pregnant women who had not received medical attention during their gestation period or specialized medical care. We also attended to migrant children, a group that rarely receives pediatric care. With these actions we reaffirmed our firm commitment to the population in mobility, who face undignified conditions during transit.
