From March 2023 to the end of the year, CADENA Panama, with the support of its volunteers, has provided assistance in Medalla Milagrosa to respond to the migratory crisis in the country. Through RED CLAMOR, the National Institute of Migration shelters migrant population with medical and psychological care needs, and that for logistical reasons cannot be accommodated in the Temporary Migratory Reception Station in Gualaca. The Medalla also attended to the survivors of the accident in February 2023, after a bus caught fire.

In conjunction with the National Migration Service and thanks to donations from clothing suppliers such as Mayz, Zona Libre and Conway, we were able to deliver hygiene kits, shoes, clothing and materials. educational, recreational and medical services. Over the course of the year, we have provided care to 500 people who were in the Medalla Milagrosa. We also provide support to pregnant women and people with disabilities. This project will continue until 2024 in order to maintain our support for people in mobility situations.
