From November 9 to 12 we will hold our Camp Pathfinders Sur 2023 in the Seno Obstrucción region of Patagonia, which was aimed at our fourth generation of Pathfinders. Pathfinders. Este campamento fue una manera teórico-práctica para formar al estudiantado, quienes en el transcurso del campamento pusieron en práctica sus habilidades para responder en intervenciones humanitarias. Nuestro equipo de Pathfinders is responsible for leading CADENA’s responses at the international level, so this activity sought to train volunteers in physical and theoretical activities, such as providing their own food, finding a safe place to sleep and organizing their transportation. They also received training on the Sphere Handbook and the Sustainable Development Goals.
We had the participation of 12 volunteers, 10 of whom were Argentinean and two of whom were from the international community. With the help of external trainers and professional staff, we fulfilled the objective of training this generation and helping them to develop genuine humanitarian leadership. To conclude this camp full of learning and challenges, we delivered water filters to 10 families in Seno Obstrucción who are in vulnerable conditions. Through these activities, we seek that volunteer training goes beyond theory and generates irreplaceable tools that we know will be completely useful in their trajectory as humanitarians.
