Successful completion of the National Final of CADENA 2024 Initiative

By CADENA

On October 29, CADENA, the humanitarian arm of the Jewish Community of Guatemala, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, held the second edition of the CADENA Initiative contest at national level. The objective of this initiative is to promote the training and preparation of students to become future leaders through the creation of social and humanitarian projects that seek solutions to problems arising from humanitarian crises, such as disasters, poverty, inequality and lack of development in their communities.

This year, the contest gathered students from 15 departments of the country, who presented innovative projects aimed at contributing to a better world. During the awards ceremony of the National Final of CADENA Initiative 2024, held at the facilities of the Jewish Community of Guatemala, the valuable contribution of each participating group was recognized and the first three places were announced.

The winning team will have the opportunity to represent Guatemala in the International Final next year. The ceremony was attended by Alon Lavi, Ambassador of the State of Israel in Guatemala; María Elizabeth Galindo Jiménez, Deputy Director of Programs and Projects of the Ministry of Education; Claudia Oliva, Accreditation and Certification Analyst of the same ministry; Rosángela María Mérida, Advisor of the Technical Vice-Department; Jonatan Bijman, Consul of the Embassy of Israel; and Verónica Levy de Cohen, President of CADENA Guatemala, who were part of the jury in this exciting final. This event was possible thanks to the support and sponsorship of important allies who share our mission to educate and build a more resilient world.
