SECOND INTERVENTION IN TEXAS HILL COUNTRY

In early August, a month after floods devastated the Texas Hill Country region, our team returned to continue supporting recovery efforts after this disaster.

In Burnet, we cleared debris, overgrowth, and solid fuels to reduce wildfire risk. We also provided psychosocial aid and supported people affected by the floods. Meanwhile, in Sandy Creek and San Saba, we assessed structural damage, uninhabitable homes, and collapsed areas.

This intervention was made possible in coordination with local organizations such as Travis Disaster Management, Hill Country Community Action Association, Austin Disaster Relief, and Ark of Highland Lake, as well as the support of Airlink and Shalom Austin.

FLOOD RESPONSE IN MERIDA, VENEZUELA

In response to the flooding of the Chama River in Mérida, Venezuela, at CADENA International, we delivered humanitarian aid to support communities affected by this disaster.

After conducting an assessment, we distributed food and hygiene kits, mattresses, blankets, buckets, water purification tablets, and seed kits in collaboration with Fundación Arcoíris and Meals4Hope.

We also held protection workshops focused on children, integrating a gender perspective and providing special attention to people with disabilities to strengthen the community’s resilience.

SAFE WATER FOR KISIMA I, UGANDA

In CADENA International, together with Stars Uganda, we brought water filters for 35 families in Kisima I Island, located in Lake Victoria in Uganda. This installation indirectly benefited more than 200 people and represented greater access to this resource for the community.
