INTERVENTION IN THE WICHI COMMUNITIES OF LA ESPERANZA AND SAN FELIPE

This month, a group of volunteers traveled to the province of Salta, Argentina, to visit the indigenous communities of La Esperanza and San Felipe.
For nearly six months each year, heavy rains cause severe flooding that leaves these families completely isolated, without access to healthcare, food, education, and other essential services. Furthermore, the lack of safe drinking water puts their health and lives at risk.
Over the course of four days, our team worked to gather key information, understand the communities’ needs, and ensure that future aid efforts are effective and sustainable, as well as organizing health workshops and activities for children.
BLOOD DRIVE WITH DAMOS

During Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, CADENA Argentina participated in a new blood donation campaign organized with DAMOS, an initiative that has promoted solidarity for the past 14 years.
Our team of volunteers worked alongside medical staff, supported donors, attended to their needs, and helped with the event’s communication. In total, 114 people donated blood to three public hospitals.
In a country where only 1% of the population donates blood voluntarily, initiatives like this are key to encouraging community participation and raising awareness about the importance of giving.
WE KEEP MOVING FORWARD WITH OUR TUTORING PROJECT!

In Argentina, many neighborhoods have community kitchens, spaces where families come to receive a meal, participate in activities, and meet with others.
Since April, we have held tutoring workshops in these spaces for children to strengthen subjects they find difficult, complete their homework with guidance, and learn in a calm and supportive environment.
Month after month, the kids return with new questions, but also with growing confidence and stronger bonds with our volunteers.
