15TH GLOBAL FORUM ON MIGRATION AND DEVELOPMENT SUMMIT

From September 2nd through 4th, our President, Sol Bentolila, participated in the 15th Global Forum on Migration and Development Summit in Riohacha, La Guajira. This event was key to advancing the development of sustainable solutions to migratory challenges through humanitarian action and shared responsibility. 

 

START NETWORK DISASTER RISK MANAGEMENT PROGRAM WORKSHOP

Our Humanitarian Operations Director, Steven Rozen, participated in the Start Network Disaster Risk Financing (DRF) Program Workshop, an innovative model designed to anticipate and fund humanitarian responses before disasters occur. 

Throughout the week, we convened with international, national, and local organizations to make progress on the possible implementation of DRF in Colombia. This system promotes a response based on risk analysis, climate modeling, and pre-arranged financing mechanisms, enabling early and effective action in the face of natural hazards. 

 

HUMANITARIAN INTERVENTION IN BASTIDAS, SANTA MARTA 

This month, we supported people affected by floods in Bastidas, Santa Marta. In collaboration with IsraAid, we delivered hygiene kits, as well as mattresses donated by Jamar Furniture, to 110 families. 

 

WELLNESS INTERVENTION IN BOGOTA

During our most recent wellness intervention, alongside Julián Rodríguez, we supported 50 people experiencing homelessness, providing food and haircuts. 

 

FIRST YOUTH INTERVENTION

During this semester’s first intervention, we created a space filled with fun and connection for children at the Amar Center, where we celebrated Valentine’s Day.
