400 DIGNITY KITS FOR MIGRANT CHILDREN

Thanks to the generosity of many people and the commitment of our volunteers, we assembled our first line of dignity kits for migrant children experiencing homelessness in several districts across Costa Rica’s Metropolitan Area.

Each kit included a protein bar, tuna, crackers, water, electrolytes, a spoon, and a reusable bag to provide basic support for children in migratory situations.

YO RESPONDO PROGRAM GRADUATION

On September 10th, we celebrated the graduation of 15 students from the Yo Respondo program, which was implemented at the San Jose School.

Participants strengthened their ability to work in emergency scenarios and completed their Student Community Service, advancing towards becoming agents of change in their communities.

DELIVERY OF KITS FOR MIGRANT CHILDREN

Alongside our volunteers, in San Jose, Cartago, Heredia, and Alajuela, we delivered basic kits to migrant children facing homelessness and their caregivers.

Many of these families seek financial help or work informally to support themselves in their return to other Latin American countries. With each kit, we seek to offer some relief in their journey.

“VOLUNTEERISM AND CHANGE THEORY” EVENT

In collaboration with the Latin American University of Science and Technology (ULACIT), we hosted the “Volunteerism and Change Theory: Strategies for a Sustainable Transformation” event, a space for reflection on the power of volunteerism to boost social, economic, environmental, and humanitarian transformations. More than 100 participants from social organizations, allied businesses, institutions, and volunteer corps were present.

These activities included presentations by:

  • Ilan Adler, water project planning expert and one of CADENA’s collaborators.
  • Ryan Bardack, Corporate Development Administrator at AFC.

And a panel with:

  • Carmen Sánchez, economist and founder of Pareto.
  • Ellian Villalobos, Executive Director of Green Wolf Costa Rica.
  • Yohana Montero, Director of CADENA Costa Rica.
