REFLECTING ON MORAL COURAGE: CLOSING MEETING OF THE RIGHTEOUS AMONG THE NATIONS EXHIBITION
On January 13, CADENA’s International Education Office held the closing meeting for the Exhibition of Moral Courage: Righteous Among the Nations, which was on display for two weeks at the Aventura Public Library.
During the meeting, we thanked our volunteers for their valuable time, dedication, and outstanding collaboration. Each of them had the opportunity to share feedback and reflect on their experience. A common observation was how shocking they found it that many people had never heard of the Holocaust and were unaware of the recognition given to individuals who demonstrated moral courage by standing up for others.
Together, the group concluded that spaces like these are extremely valuable and that it is essential to continue exposing the public to these topics to educate and raise awareness as much as possible.
Building on this conclusion, Ilana Becker from Espacio Anna Frank and Coexpace shared that, in the near future, there will be another exhibition titled “Coexistence and Truthfulness”, aimed at addressing and combating the spread of false narratives.
This meeting provided a valuable space to reach these conclusions and to begin building a path of communication with new volunteers who are interested in educating the broader community. More opportunities will come, and we are confident that together we can make a significant impact.
CADENA CLUB: SOLIDARITY DRIVE FOR PERSONAL HYGIENE PRODUCTS
During January, we conducted a personal hygiene products drive in preparation for our upcoming visit to individuals experiencing houselessness.
Each CADENA Club from schools in the Miami area was assigned a different product, which became part of a hygiene kit to be distributed to people who currently lack stable housing. Thank you to everyone who has joined this initiative of support.
EMPOWERMENT THROUGH EDUCATION: CADENA CLUB LEADERSHIP GATHERING
This month, CADENA Club presidents and vice presidents gathered at our Miami office, both in person and via Zoom, to learn about the Florence Nightingale Project and participate in the “Empowerment Through Menstruation” workshop. During the session, they explored the importance of menstrual education and reproductive rights, and how these issues affect people worldwide.
The gathering provided a valuable space for open reflection and the exchange of new ideas that participants can bring back to their respective Clubs.
