FIRST TEACHER TRAINING STRENGTHENS THE LAUNCH OF THE 2026 NATIONAL CADENA INITIATIVE

On April 14, we carried out our first virtual Teacher’s Training, which focused on CADENA’s DNA, bringing together educators from across the country with the aim of strengthening collaborative work and joining efforts ahead of the 2026 National CADENA Initiative program. During the session, we introduced the official project framework that will guide participating schools in implementing initiatives that focus on youth leadership, social innovation, and community preparedness for emergencies and disasters.

The response to this call has been encouraging, with 14 departments already registered to take part in this new edition.

THE VALLE VERDE CES SCHOOL STRENGTHENS YOUTH LEADERSHIP THROUGH SECOND CADENA INITIATIVE TRAINING

On April 20, we joined the Valle Verde CES School in the second training session for the CADENA Initiative program, aimed at Second Course A and B students, who continue advancing in the design of social entrepreneurship projects focused on addressing the needs of communities selected by each team.

Throughout the session, we reinforced key tools to identify challenges, build value-driven proposals, and plan concrete actions with social impact.

CADENA YOUTH REINFORCES PLANNING AND HUMANITARIAN LEADERSHIP SKILLS

On April 27, we visited CADENA Youth members at the American School of Guatemala for a specialized training session focused on planning, which was led by Nicky Rosenthal, director and leader of Maccabi in the Jewish Community of Guatemala. During the session, we strengthened students’ knowledge in strategic planning, goal setting, and the design of humanitarian interventions. These are all vital elements to carry out actions with socially impactful and responsible actions.

Through practical exercises, participants worked on structuring humanitarian interventions, identifying priority needs and building responses grounded on an ethical approach.

SECOND TRAINING SESSION FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE 2026 NATIONAL CADENA INITIATIVE

On April 28, we conducted our second Framework Training for the 2026 National CADENA Initiative, gathering teachers and departmental teams committed to developing community impact projects within their schools.
During the session, we explored the official project framework in greater depth, providing tools to carry out clearer assessments, stronger proposals, and actions that truly align with each community’s needs.

This space allowed us to resolve technical questions, standardize working criteria, and support participating institutions as they design their projects. Likewise, we recognized the support of the Ministry of Education and departmental delegates, whose collaboration has been essential in expanding the participation of public institutions in the program.

Additionally, we announced that the national competition will take place on October 13 – 14 in Guatemala City, where finalist teams will present their proposals before a panel of specialists.
