Tikkun Olam Through Soccer

To launch a new year of Tutors for a Cause, we shared a very special morning centered around soccer—a sport with the power to unite us, build connections, and break down barriers.

It was a day full of energy, excitement, exercise, and, above all, Tikkun Olam. Program students, along with their tutors and volunteers, took part in a fun soccer tournament, craft activities, and gift raffles.

We were also joined by WM, one of our partner organizations, who surprised students with a school backpack filled with supplies, a water bottle, and other essentials to kick off the new school year. The students’ excitement and gratitude made it a truly memorable moment.

We begin this new year of Tutors for a Cause remembering that when we come together to share, help, and create opportunities for others, we build a world with greater empathy, solidarity, and purpose.

UNMUTE: Learning, Questioning, and Transforming

This month we began in-person training sessions for our new exhibition UNMUTE—an educational initiative aimed at raising awareness about misinformation and its impact on how we understand the world and relate to one another.

Through an interactive and dynamic experience, UNMUTE invites participants to question the information they receive, develop critical thinking skills, and learn to identify misleading or false content. The exhibition aims to provide tools for understanding how misinformation is created and spread, particularly in an increasingly digital world.

With these training sessions, we continue preparing educators and facilitators to bring UNMUTE to different communities and foster spaces where we can stay better informed, question what we see, and share information responsibly.

At the same time, this exhibition represents a key opportunity to open CADENA’s doors to the university world. Higher education institutions offer tremendous potential to raise awareness about our organization, connect with new generations, and build a fresh pipeline of volunteers committed to our mission.

Through UNMUTE, we aim not only to raise awareness about misinformation, but also to build lasting connections with students and academic communities so they can discover CADENA, get involved in our work, and become active members of our movement for solidarity and humanitarian action.
