At CADENA International, we traveled from Israel to the city of Goma in Congo to respond to the needs of a refugee camp. During the first half of the intervention, our volunteers worked to install a rainwater harvesting system with a capacity of 3,000 liters, with the objective of providing clean and potable water and reducing the cases of cholera. Psychosocial activities were also carried out with children to reduce stress levels and promote wellbeing through dances, songs and games. On the other hand, our Medical Team provided medical consultations mainly to women and children who were victims of violence, malaria or cholera.

During the second half of the intervention, we traveled by boat to the Kalehe region, on the shores of Lake Kivu. In order to meet the needs of the community that suffers constantly from flooding. We delivered small water tanks with filters to schools, hospitals, health centers and community centers, in addition to providing medical consultations and psychosocial activities for children. At the end of this intervention, we were able to benefit 198 people with the delivery of 36 family water filters, 8 community water filters and 2 water tanks.
