On May 20, 2023 in the city of Caracas, CADENA Venezuela deployed an ophthalmological brigade where we delivered corrective frames and conducted consultations in a resilience workshop. In collaboration with Médicos Oftalmólogos UCV and Diciotto Eyewear, and with the support of our general volunteers, we were able to benefit 61 people who were treated to improve their ophthalmological health. In total, we provided 53 ophthalmological consultations and delivered 44 corrective lenses in a resilience workshop. Ophthalmological care brigades are essential to generate an integral development in the well-being and health of people in vulnerable situations, especially in contexts where this type of help and assistance is almost nonexistent.
