Fourth generation of Pathfinders

By CADENA

Axis: Education and Training

Office: Mexico

The area of Pathfinders is one of the areas with the greatest responsibility during our responses in the field; they are the ones who represent CADENA’s values and identity, wherever we are. At least 129 humanitarian interventions involved someone from our team of Pathfindersleading and improving response activities. This puts an enormous weight not only on our team, but also on CADENA Mexico as a whole. The formation and training of volunteers to become Pathfinders is the way in which we maintain a professional profile and the necessary skills to respond to humanitarian interventions.

With a course of 13 virtual sessions and a five-day survival camp, participants learned how to assess, respond to and implement humanitarian interventions. At the same time, they learned how we can comply with the Sphere Handbook’s international standards in all the interventions we carry out. From February to September 2023, 43 people from around the world (Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Mexico, Panama, the United States and Venezuela) prepared to become the standard for volunteering in our institution.
