Medical Journey in the department of Escuintla

By CADENA

On March 25, we had the opportunity to be part of a medical journey that made a difference in the lives of many people. As CADENA, the humanitarian arm of the Jewish Community of Guatemala, we went to the village of El Rodeo, in Escuintla, with a single purpose: to bring health and hope to those who need it most.

From the moment we arrived, the excitement and commitment of our volunteer team was palpable. In collaboration with the Transformando Vidas Foundation, the Bountiful Children Association and the community health post, we organized ourselves to receive the families of Don Pancho, La Trinidad and El Rancho. We knew that every medical consultation and every medicine delivered could mean relief for those who face daily difficulties in accessing medical care.

Throughout the day, we attended to more than 80 people in vulnerable situations. Among them were children, adults and senior citizens who, with grateful faces, reminded us of the importance of our work. Doctors and volunteers worked tirelessly, making sure that each patient received the necessary care, free of charge.

This experience reaffirmed in us the certainty that teamwork and solidarity can generate a real impact in our communities. As CADENA, together with our allies, we will continue to bring assistance to those who need it most, with the firm conviction that every action counts in the construction of a more just and humane world.
