OVER 20 FAMILIES IN LAS PAVAS RECEIVE WATER FILTERS

More than 20 families in the Las Pavas community, located along the Reventazón River basin in Turrialba, now have access to safe drinking water thanks to the Water For All program.

We distributed portable water filters and hygiene kits in support of a student-led initiative from the University of Costa Rica. We also provided training on filter installation, maintenance, and proper use, emphasizing the importance of consuming purified water every day.

SAFE WATER FOR THE CARMEN LYRA SCHOOL

On July 3rd, we carried out a humanitarian intervention at the Carmen Lyra School in Turrialba, Cartago. As part of the Water For All program, we installed a rainwater harvesting and purification system with a filtration unit.

We also inaugurated the school’s new court, for which CADENA Costa Rica donated flooring materials.

This intervention directly benefited more than 180 students, teachers, and local families in the community.

HUMANITARIAN PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP FOR VOLUNTEERS

At CADENA Costa Rica, we organized a virtual workshop on Humanitarian Photography for our volunteer network.
Participants explored essential principles, best practices, and ethical guidelines for documenting humanitarian efforts. This session helped strengthen volunteers’ ability to engage in respectful and sensitive visual storytelling during field operations.

LAUNCH OF THE 2025 “YO RESPONDO” PROGRAM

On July 23rd, we launched the 2025 edition of the “Yo Respondo” program at the Liceo de San José. We shared key tools with students to help them respond to emergencies with empathy, leadership, and resilience. This initiative seeks to train adolescents to become changemakers and advocates of humanitarian action.
