CHILDREN’S DINING HALL IN DOS MARES
We are about to inaugurate a new Children’s Dining Hall in Dos Mares, Las Garzas, in partnership with the community’s leader. This space will provide meals to children in the area and house a study center to support them with their schoolwork. At the same time, we are moving forward with the installation of new safe water access points to ensure a consistent supply and the development of a latrine installation project to improve sanitation in the community.
WATER FOR ALL
We installed new rainwater harvesting tanks in the El Marañon community, providing families with a sustainable option for water use and storage. Additionally, in the Dos Mares community, we placed safe potable water systems to ensure clean water access for households.
DENTAL BRIGADE
We carried out our first intervention with the brigade at the Curundu Children’s Dining Hall. Around 50 children received dental checkups and oral hygiene kits to reinforce daily care. We also held a practical lecture for about 150 children on the importance of oral health and proper brushing techniques. This intervention was made possible thanks to two dentists and the valuable support of three Jewish community volunteers who joined us every step of the way.
RESPONSE TO SCABIES OUTBREAK IN LAS GARZAS
After cases of scabies in communities in Las Garzas were identified, we provided support to affected families. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MINSA CAPSI) personnel, to ensure that those who were sick received proper medical care and distributed hygiene kits to aid recovery and prevent further spread of the disease.
