RESPONSE TO HURRICANE MELISSA IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
As Hurricane Melissa made its way across the Caribbean, over a million people in the Dominican Republic were affected by torrential rainfall and severe flooding that damaged infrastructure, homes, and essential services.
In response to this emergency, at CADENA International, we deployed our team, along with our local office in the Dominican Republic, to provide humanitarian assistance for over 6,000 people in vulnerable communities near the Haitian border.
Thanks to the support of Airlink and Start Network, our team delivered food and hygiene kits, installed water filters for the benefit of over 1,500 people, provided 100 medical consultations, and held menstrual health workshops for over 150 people.
