FIRST AID WORKSHOP

This month, we participated in a practical first aid workshop within the framework of the United Nations Integrated Development Plan.

This training, organized by our Communications coordination, allowed us to strengthen our capacities to provide better assistance in emergencies.

WE BROUGHT EDUCATION AND HEALTH TO TALAMACA

In the mountains of Talamaca, Cabecar communities face significant challenges in access to basic services. Because of this, we carried out a comprehensive humanitarian intervention that directly benefited children and families.

We provided:

  • 40 desks
  • 107 school kits
  • 40 medical consultations, including medications
  • 960 articles of clothing and shoes
  • 12 workshops on menstrual management and the creation of reusable pads

This intervention also included activities designed to foster the emotional and social well-being of children in the community.

“Every action contributes to building stronger communities with access to more opportunities. When we arrived here, we did not only bring aid: we build hope alongside communities, especially for children.” – Yohana Montero, Director of CADENA Costa Rica.

INSPIRATIONAL LEADERSHIP: ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FOR OUR DIRECTOR

We proudly celebrate our Director, Yohana Montero, who was acknowledged as one of the 27 outstanding at the 2026 Magenta Night held by ALAS.

This recognition distinguishes leaders who strive for gender equality and generate social impact in their communities.

At CADENA Costa Rica, we are proud of Yohana’s work and exceptional leadership.

SUPPORTING PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOUSELESSNESS

For the second time, we have joined efforts with Theos Place, sharing food and time with people experiencing houselessness. Our volunteers offered coffee and warm meals and distributed articles of clothing throughout the intervention to provide direct support.

FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE BRIGADE TRAINING

Our Florence Brigade’s training process continues through open, prejudice-free learning spaces focused on dignified menstrual management. On March 30, our volunteers participated in a workshop where we built a safe space to converse freely and to provide key information on menstrual management.
