CADENA INITIATIVE REGIONAL FINAL

On April 12, we held the CADENA Initiative’s Regional Final in Costa Rica, gathering 13 students from three schools: Instituto Dr. Jaim Weizman, American International School, and Lincoln School, which hosted the event in its premises.

After completing the program’s educational process, participating teams presented social entrepreneurship projects to make a positive impact on their surroundings.

Some notable projects include ALERT ME, the first-place winner and representative of CADENA Costa Rica at the CADENA Initiative camp, which our country will host; RIVER WRITE, which placed second; and ECO SEAL, the third-place winner.

This event was also made possible thanks to the valuable support of our volunteers.

WOMEN’S HEALTH AND HYGIENE DAY

At the community of Guararí, in Heredia, we participated in the Women’s Health and Hygiene Day, organized by the First Lady’s Office. Together with our Florence Brigade, we shared practical tools for women to manage their menstrual health in a fully informed and safe manner.

We also held a menstrual management workshop where women of all ages participated and created their own menstrual pads.

HUMANITARIAN PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

This month, we carried out a humanitarian photography workshop for volunteers. This space allowed us to share criteria and experiences on audiovisual documentation in humanitarian contents, as well as providing technical photojournalism tools.

MEDIA APPEARANCES

April brought great visibility to CADENA. Both our staff and volunteers participated in several media spaces: the press, radio, and television, highlighting our organization’s humanitarian work.

One of the most notable appearances we had was our participation in Channel 7’s “Buen Día”, which broadcasted live from the Centro Israelita Sionista. The segment brought viewers closer to the impact of our work in real time, as volunteers assembled hygiene kits to be distributed in a humanitarian intervention.
