EARTHQUAKE RESPONSE IN VENEZUELA
On June 24, two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela, causing widespread destruction and human and material losses across several regions, including La Guaira, Caracas, Miranda, Carabobo, and Yaracuy.
In response to this situation, at CADENA International, we deployed our team to respond to this disaster and to assist the most affected communities.
During the first phase of our response, our Go Team worked in the most affected zones, mainly La Guaira, where it supported national and international teams through the use of Life Locator technology, thanks to which they guided efforts that saved at least one life. They also distributed tools for local rescue and civil protection teams, as well as fire brigades.
In the meantime, our specialists have provided psychological first aid, and we activated our KOL helpline to offer free mental health support to individuals and families affected by the earthquakes.
Following a needs assessment, a second team is now on the ground implementing the next phase of our response. Thanks to the generosity of the people who have supported us and in coordination with strategic partners and other organizations, we are providing safe water, essential items, shelter, and psychosocial support to help people and communities recover and rebuild.
