CADENA Israel was inaugurated in 2012, after implementing a search and rescue course for a group of 10 people. Its great success meant that later on that same year the participants of our course were the cornerstone for one of our humanitarian actions in Syria. In 2014, we initiated the first Search and Rescue Hajshara, which also constituted the onset of the Go Team in CADENA Mexico. We founded CADENA Israel intending to bring together people from all over the world who live in or are visiting Israel according to the principles of our organization: fighting against indifference and repairing the world.

Why are we located in Israel?

Israel is recognized internationally as a leader in humanitarian action and emergency management.
It is a meeting point for people from Jewish communities around the world who participate in numerous medium and long-term programs. By participating in humanitarian experiences, volunteers can become humanitarian people and agents of change within their communities.
This is a strategic geographical point to respond immediately to emergencies in Africa, Asia, and Europe.
Israel is located on the Dead Sea rift between the Arabian and African tectonic plates, which makes the country prone to earthquakes. Moreover, the ongoing conflicts in the area highlight the need for continuous humanitarian assistance.
Israel is a recipient of people on the move from Eritrea and Sudan.

LAOMEK in Machon L'Madrichim

Workshop of five to seven sessions in which young leaders of several youth movements around the world learn about humanitarian aid, Tikkun Olam, and CADENA.

Humanitarian Rescue Hajshara (GoTeam)

Two-month course in which our volunteers are trained to become rescue workers with a humanitarian perspective to subsequently join the Go Team in Mexico.

Regeneration and CADENA Initiative

Currently, both programs are active in the Hilel schools in Ramat Gan and Brenner in Givatayim. In 2022, Israel’s team won first place in the CADENA Initiative for that year.

Humanitarian Hajshara

A six-week program in which participants of long-term programs in Israel learn about humanitarian aid, Tikkun Olam, and CADENA by traveling throughout the country and having close encounters with different realities, companies and experts.
