Our vision

Our vision

Being the humanitarian arm of the Jewish communities worldwide in order to bring hand in hand assistance to the most vulnerable people in disasters and crises, regardless of their origin, creed, and religion.
We put into action one of the highest principles of Judaism: Tikkun Olam, the act of repairing the world. At the same time, we inspire youth and society in general to be agents of positive change in order to build a better future.

Our mission

Our mission

Alleviating human suffering by reducing the vulnerability of communities in constant risk of disasters and crises, promoting a culture of prevention and inclusion, impartiality, neutrality, humanity, and independence.

Our pillars

Help

We act promptly in disasters and humanitarian crises, addressing prevention, emergency relief, and recovery.

Educate

We nurture a humanitarian identity in children, youth, and adults, inspiring meaningful and long-term action.

RAISE AWARENESS

We inspire civil society and the private sector to embrace their shared responsibility of helping others and building a better world.

Hand-in-hand

One of our distinguishing characteristics is that we deliver hand-in-hand aid. The point is not only to provide support, but also to create moments where we can meet with others, as well as with the great array of contexts and situations they exist in. Our volunteer teams always come back home with a story, a face, a memory.

In CADENA, we believe our assistance should focus both on pragmatics and ethics. We bestow great importance to the meeting of people, since these meetings provide us with humanity.

Tikkun Olam

Tikkun Olam is the project to heal the world. Rather than an ideal, this project is an attitude that involves coming face to face with indifference to provide for other people and to be aware of the position that each person has in the world. This project is also about being aware of our ability to take action and reflecting on the several contributions all of us can make when the world faces challenging situations.

For our organization, Tikkun Olam is a philosophical framework through which to understand reality.
