Farewell Message by Sol Bentolila, Secretary General of CADENA

By CADENA

Dear CADENA family:

Some letters are written with great excitement and others are a bit more difficult. This one, without a doubt, is the latter.

The first thing I want to say to you is thank you. Thank you for always being there. Thank you for believing in CADENA, for trusting our work, and for proving, time and again, that when we come together with a common purpose, no challenge is too great for us.

I want to especially thank you for all the support you have given Venezuela, my country. Seeing the solidarity with which you have responded in such difficult moments has been incredibly moving for me. Thank you for every donation, for every message, for every gesture of affection, and for making it possible for us to be present when we are most needed.

Today, we are closing the first phase of our intervention, which focused on search and rescue and psychosocial support. These were very intense days, filled with challenges, but also with humanity. We stood alongside hundreds of people during their hardest moments and, thanks to you, we helped save lives. None of what we have accomplished so far would have been possible without your trust and your generosity.

Still, our commitment to Venezuela continues. We have already started a second phase in our intervention, providing psychosocial support and delivering essential supplies, working alongside communities to respond in the most efficient and humane way possible. To achieve this, we still need you. Every contribution, every partnership, and every person who decides to join us allows us to go further.

And now, I would like to share something very personal with you.

After several years that have shaped my life, the time has come to say goodbye to my role as Secretary General of CADENA. I leave with a heart full of gratitude, lessons learned, friendships, and the great honor of having worked alongside an extraordinary team and having met wonderful people who believe, as I do, that helping others is one of the most beautiful ways to live.

CADENA will always be a part of me. Because here I grew, I dreamed, I learned, and I confirmed that solidarity has the power to transform lives; not only the lives of those who receive help, but also the lives of those of us who are granted the honor to serve.

Today, I pass the torch on to Raquel Weintraub, a person I admire and deeply care for, who will step into the role of CEO. I am certain that, under her leadership, CADENA will continue to grow, innovate, and bring hope to thousands of more people. I have no doubt that the organization is left in the best hands.

Thank you for walking side by side with me over these years. Thank you for trusting me, and, above all, thank you for continuing to believe in CADENA.

With all my love,

Sol Bentolila
